Answer the loop

Steps to follow:

1. Record or load a four-bar loop: a chord pattern or a drum groove.
2. Listen three times without tapping or playing.
3. Try to hear an answering line before you play. If nothing arrives, play a single note and react to it.
4. Record three takes, each one a different response.
5. Pick the take that surprises you most and write down what it did differently.
